Home Visiting
Benefits of Home Visiting for Families in Nevada

Sunrise Children’s Foundation in Las Vegas, Nevada, offers various free home-based Early Childhood education programs that empower parents to be their child’s first teacher.
As a parent, you’ll be provided with a set of developmentally appropriate materials, curriculum, and books designed to strengthen your children’s cognitive skills, early literacy skills, and social, emotional, and physical development. You’ll also be guided through the expert support of highly trained and experienced parent educators.
Knowing how to help support your child during these critical formative years can have a lasting impact on your child’s school readiness and overall academic success.
Discover the Value of Working With a Certified Parent Educator
Our certified parent educators help parents engage their children in daily learning activities that promote literacy and school readiness. Serving income-eligible families throughout Clark County, trained parent educators conduct year-round sessions for a maximum of three years to enable the children to enter school ready to learn with the ability and confidence to succeed.
When you enroll your child in a home visit program, you give your child the advantage of school readiness. This combination of skills and experiences allows children to have a greater chance of positive outcomes when they enter the school setting — whether it be early Head Start programs, preschool, or kindergarten.
Children who are enrolled in home visit programs exhibit the following behaviors:
- Greater interest in learning
- Stronger listening and comprehension skills
- Improved social skills
- Greater ability to regulate emotions and strong feelings
- Minimized feelings of separation anxiety when they do start school
- Better acclimation to the school setting and formal Early Childhood education programs
- Familiarity with the learning process and the introduction of new material
- Improved independence
Parents also benefit greatly from the support offered through home visit programs. For example, parents will become part of a greater network that focuses on helping children meet developmental milestones, whether it be social, emotional, cognitive, or physical.
As a parent, you won’t feel like you are alone in the journey of Early Childhood education. Instead, you’ll have a community that you can turn to when you need it most.
Additionally, you can also get connected to other community resources that can help you and your family lead healthier, happier lives. This can include getting connected to community events and even Social Service programs, like the Women, Infants, and Children program (WIC), which can help with the cost of food, connect you with parenting education, and other support.
