Maternal and Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV)


Maternal and Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting targets at-risk communities through two Evidence-Based Home Visiting Programs that support healthy child development and ensures the safety of young children from birth to five years of age as well as family members. The goals of this program are:

  • » Improvements in Maternal and Newborn Health
  • » Prevention of Child Injuries, Child Abuse, Neglect, or Maltreatment and Reduction of Emergency Department Visits
  • » Improvements in School Readiness and Achievement
  • » Reduction in Crime and/or Domestic Violence
  • » Improvements in Family Economic Self-Sufficiency
  • » Coordination and Referrals for Other Community Resources and Supports
